CCA targets delay

The Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has delayed its plans to carry out a review of Climate Change Agreement (CCA) targets.

The review was due to take place next year.  However, in the Summer Budget in July, the government announced that it will “review the business energy efficiency tax landscape and consider approaches to simplify and improve the effectiveness of the regime”.

A consultation is due to be published in the autumn. As part of this review the government will consider approaches to improve the effectiveness of incentives to save energy and carbon whilst protecting the most energy intensive sectors. A new date for the CCA target review is expected to be announced in due course.
