An industry code change, known as P272, was recently approved by Ofgem. It means that all energy suppliers must change a Non Half Hourly Profile Class 05 – 08 electricity supply that has Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) technology available, to a Half Hourly electricity supply.
By the 1st April 2017 all meters which fall into this category will need to be settled Half-Hourly.
Half-Hourly settled meters are based on actual Half-Hourly meter readings which will allow distributors to better understand electricity use within the networks and also improve the accuracy of electricity bills due to them being based on actual data.
