A new study concludes that homeworking could cut 3m tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent and save UK businesses £3bn a year.
The Carbon Trust says there are 4m workers who currently work in offices but whose jobs could be based at home.
At present, it’s thought that only 35% of employers have a home working policy, despite the benefits of less commuting, reduced energy consumption in offices and the savings that could be realised through downsizing to smaller offices. Read more about the study.
