Almost all of the 14,000 organisations required to comply with the new Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme by December are now aware of its existence, though it’s unclear how many will be in compliance with the first audit deadline, according to industry title, EIBI.
Government research indicates that 56% have begun to work towards compliance. This involves a full review of all energy usage and all energy efficiency measures as well as clear information on potential savings.
The scheme is being overseen by the Environment Agency.
