IEC recently joined forces with Wrexham Borough Council to host an Energy Event for local businesses.
Some 30 delegates representing businesses large and small attended the event, which focused on the issue of energy purchasing.
IEC MD Mike Jones gave a presentation to help businesses understand the issues they face when negotiating energy contracts. He detailed the global context of energy pricing, looking at the fluctuating cost of energy over the past four years, before going on to explain the various buying options now available. Most importantly, Mike stressed the need for an energy management plan to ensure proper control of energy usage and spend.
Mike said: “Energy is a rising cost to most businesses. However, with the right management, it is possible to keep those costs to a minimum. What’s important is that energy is managed in a proactive, not reactive manner. We had some good feedback from the people who attended who can hopefully take the information back to their workplace and put into practice what they learned.”
